About the role

As a Manager of Business Support & Financial Control, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial and strategic information, monitoring variance against the budget, evaluating opportunities and risks, and implementation of cost control. In addition, you will support middle‑management business with financial business cases, dashboards and analyses. You will focus on value‑added, meaningful and insightful reporting and analyses for Senior Management in Finance and middle‑management business.

You will organise and manage requests from Senior Management Finance, set priorities and manage the daily work of team members. Finally, you will ensure compliance with QR accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop business partner relationship functionality with leaders of assigned area of responsibility.
  • Introduce a culture that encourages recommendation of feasible projects based on value, risk and priority.
  • Prepare, analyse, enhance and present monthly KPI performance to budget holders, analysing revenue/expenditure variance to keep actual income and expenditure in line with plan.
  • Prepare, analyse and present quarterly rolling forecasts to business and financial stakeholders.
  • Analyse actuals, forecasts and budgets and prepare analyses for senior management of Cargo and corporate performance against benchmarks.
  • Review commercial contracts and business proposals to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Present an objective view of the financial situation and provide sound recommendations for efficient resource allocation to achieve business objectives.
  • Deliver ongoing financial analysis and insight‑driven guidance through continuous review, analysis, cost‑reduction initiatives and targets.
  • Lead, direct and manage the preparation, execution and analysis of the budgeting process on a timely basis in accordance with CFO directives on cost efficiencies for Direct Operational Costs, Manpower and Overheads.
  • Enhance presentations and analysis submitted to the Cost Management Committee (CMC) and conduct post‑CMC analysis for major capital projects and spends.
  • Conduct in‑depth analysis on a variety of complex strategic and business projects/issues, present findings and make recommendations directly to the business.
  • Monitor expenditure variances on an ongoing basis and ensure actual expenditure aligns with planned budget.
  • Lead investigations when variances are significant, taking necessary control action, and prepare/review financial forecasts addressing risks and opportunities.
  • Control inventory processes to maintain stock levels within acceptable order and reorder quantities.
  • Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About You
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of job‑related experience.
  • Experience working to tight internal reporting timescales and managing responsibilities/work interruptions while meeting deadlines.
  • Command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, written, verbal, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret data and present effectively.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information.
  • Good knowledge of internal finance system.
  • Knowledge of cost‑centre accounting, preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review variances, understand business cycle and their impact on the profit and loss account.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Access and PowerPoint, and proficiency with Oracle Financials.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
  • Self‑starter, organised, able to prioritise, handle multiple responsibilities, work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work with more than one reporting line.
  • Proven commercial skills and business acumen.
  • Managerial skills: ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow; strong mentoring and coaching skills; ability to train and develop subordinate skills; ability to foster teamwork among team members.
