The Transfer Pricing (TP) Specialist is responsible for all transfer pricing matters in the department and handling the tax compliance of a portfolio of taxpayers. This includes assistance on the day-to‑day operation of the regime for the portfolio of taxpayers assigned and on TP enquiries through verification/validation of taxpayers’ TP studies, developing an internal transfer pricing database, and providing technical assistance to the team on all TP matters.
KeyAccountabilities
- Manage a portfolio of taxpayers and handle all tax compliance related matters including issuance of Tax Cards, tax return processing, penalties, etc., and ensure these are administered efficiently and fairly.
- Carry out risk assessments on tax returns of taxpayers and open and conduct enquiries where required.
- Assist team members with technical input on enquiry cases and advance ruling requests which have a Transfer Pricing component.
- Evaluate and critically assess benchmarking reports submitted by taxpayers.
- Prepare benchmarking reports/studies to help challenge taxpayers’ studies in case these were not appropriate or correct.
- Develop a Transfer Pricing database based on taxpayers reported data.
- Prepare data reports for management as required.
- Assist the Head of Tax Projects with any ongoing project work, including review of project deliverables.
- Support the Managing Director of Tax, Manager – Tax Compliance and Head – Tax Projects in all areas of the operation of the Tax Department, as required.
- Assist on all other tax administration, compliance and TP related matters within the department.
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, and a recognized accounting or preferably tax qualification.
- Minimum Experience: At least 6 years of Transfer Pricing experience working in either a tax compliance and advisory role or with a government tax department/Revenue authority.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Numerate and literate.
- Highly developed tax technical skills.
