Senior Mechanical Engineer (Onshore Pipelines) Doha, Qatar

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Onshore Pipelines) for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.

Fluency in English is a must.

• Conduct Pipeline Engineering activities for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.
• Create, develop and review work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities.
• Ensure the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
• Ensure the required client technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work-scopes and during Pipeline Engineering activities.
• Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
• Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply client standards and client’s amendments to external standards.
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.
• Carry out in-house site surveys, engineering and design.
• Produce, review, check and approve in-house designs and specifications.
• Coordinate designs, specifications and work-scopes created by multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance; liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities.
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
• Review and evaluate Contract Changes/Variations to approved guidelines and practices.
• Support the development of personal technical competency and skills, and those of co-workers; participate in structured training for Associate Engineers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (or similar).
• Chartered/Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry, of which 6 years should be in Pipeline Engineering.
• Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to Pipeline Engineering.
• Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
• Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.
