Senior Commissioning Engineer – Doha, Qatar

We are looking to hire a Senior Commissioning Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.

Minimum 12‑14 years' experience in relevant construction and installation activities in oil & gas projects.

Fluency in English is a must.

• Represent QP as Commissioning Team Leader for all assigned projects offshore
• Review and comment EPIC Contractor SOW pre‑commissioning, commissioning and completion activities
• Lead project pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up engineering support services rendered by outsourced contractors, ensuring compliance with QP regulations, project commissioning procedures and industry best practices
• Report to Head, Commissioning on all commissioning related matters under execution for successful completion of commissioning
• Improve QP commissioning procedures, initiate and contribute to the commissioning deliverables standardization
• Develop Commissioning Strategy, Commissioning Plan and obtain approval in consultation with End User and in accordance with Contract requirements and in close coordination with Head, Commissioning and EPIC Contractor
• Lead the Commissioning Team in developing and arranging approval of the commissioning procedures for all systems and facilities
• Organise and ensure availability of the Commissioning Team and arrange required manpower support from End User and Contractor
• Plan the commissioning activities and ensure implementation according to the approved Commissioning Plan and project schedule
• Detail activities into required systems and subsystems to facilitate commissioning and start‑up
• Develop and arrange for approval of all commissioning handover checklists and certificates and coordinate with Contractor/Vendors to resolve system/equipment performance problems
• Work closely with project Construction Team, End User and Contractor to coordinate punch listing activities from beginning to end of the commissioning process including clearance and close‑out
• Frequent long working hours may be required, including outdoor field work
• Operate in a multi‑disciplinary, multi‑cultural environment requiring special coordination and expediting skills; sound interpersonal relationships and effective communication within QP and Contractor teams
• Coordinate schedule for vendors' presence/visits at site(s), on‑job training to assist in the commissioning of critical equipment and processes
• Participate and contribute to all safety design review and studies
• Participate on FAT as required
• Review multidiscipline engineering deliverables from commissioning approaches
• Support and assist project team in project close‑out gate

• BSc (or) BE in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university with extensive commissioning experience of Oil & Gas projects
• Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution
• Good communication skills
• Exposure to commissioning software ICAPS and similar
• A minimum of eight to ten (12 to 14) years’ experience in relevant construction and installation activities in oil & gas industry, experienced in implementation of construction industry best practices, systems, processes and standards
• Multi‑discipline engineering exposure with troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills considered essential
• Experience in offshore projects construction, installation activities strongly preferred
• Strong technical experience in commissioning of F&G Systems, DCS, IC System, Power Management Systems, Instrument air, Wellhead Control Systems etc. offshore
