As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Level 2 – Engine Facility
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Level 2 – Engine Facility, you will be responsible to deliver off wing engine maintenance and rework activities within their license authority. To support engine LRU build‑up, module removal/installations, borescope inspections, engine preservation/storage, receipt/dispatch inspections, shipping and management of spare engines. To ensure the maintenance tasks are performed in an efficient and timely manner with low TAT to support QTR engine operation.
OperationalAccountabilities
- Exercising his license/approval in relation to the accomplishment of scheduled, unscheduled BSIs to support smooth operation of Qatar Airways aircraft engines.
- Advising the supervisor of any impending service disruptions, problems or areas of concern that may have an impact on the operating program.
- Providing specialized knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe, effective and efficient operation.
- Performing engine/APU receipt inspections, dispatch inspections, engine transportations, fan split/mate, LRU build‑up, module removal/installations and certifications to achieve on‑time targets of spare engine/APU production operation.
- Using all available resources to ascertain that all maintenance, including casualties on QR aircraft engines, is carried out to the highest possible maintenance standards and safety in the most productive, proactive and cost‑effective manner.
- Ensuring work processes are effective by complying with QR work procedures and standards to improve engine maintenance.
- Ensuring effective performance of tasks by checking engine maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid‑down policies and procedures within a given time frame.
- Meeting scheduled requirements by maintaining component serviceability standards and implementing solutions to engine technical problems.
- Ensuring scheduled/unscheduled tasks are performed to meet company’s set standards and targets in an efficient airworthiness manner.
- Being responsible for maintenance of various types of engines and configurations as per approved aircraft maintenance procedure manuals.
- Maintaining engines as RFI (ready for installation) to meet planned targets of all scheduled/unscheduled engine changes.
- Ensuring shift handover is in place and updated as per TPM.
- Complying to update handover database on every shift work pattern.
- Liaising with database group to ensure all data are up‑to‑date to comply with technical network file server policy.
- Maintaining the engine release to service authorization privilege as per TPM and QCAA.
- Performing other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job‑related experience.
- Holds a minimum of 2 engine type approvals or borescope approvals.
- Minimum of 5 years of job‑related aircraft certifying experience.
- Borescope inspection and QEC/LRU build‑up experience of V2500, Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent XWB, GE CF6‑80E1, GE90, GENX, GP7000, PW4158, PW1000 engines (minimum two QTR engine type experience).
- Ability to retrieve and read data from technical publications.
- Sound knowledge of air legislation.
- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Using mathematics to solve problems.
- Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Excellent knowledge of computer software, specifically MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Good understanding of Airbus and Boeing aircraft maintenance manuals with reference to limitations.
