Irrigation Engineer

Overview

Overview We are seeking a skilled Irrigation Engineer to join our facilities management project in Qatar. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient irrigation systems to ensure optimal water resource management and landscape sustainability. You will be involved in assessing site conditions, analyzing water requirements, and selecting suitable irrigation technologies. Your role will involve collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including landscape architects, project managers, and clients, to ensure the successful execution of irrigation solutions that meet environmental and regulatory standards.

This position demands a solid understanding of irrigation principles, strong project management abilities, and a commitment to implementing eco-friendly practices. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise and a proactive approach to advancing sustainable irrigation solutions, contributing significantly to the success and reputation of our project in Qatar.

• Design and implement efficient irrigation systems for various facilities, ensuring optimal water usage and coverage.
• Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of installed systems to ensure they meet project requirements and operate efficiently.
• Work closely with landscape architects and project managers to integrate irrigation systems with broader facility management plans.
• Coordinate with local authorities in Qatar to ensure compliance with regional water use and irrigation regulations.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with irrigation systems, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation related to irrigation system performance and updates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of irrigation systems into ongoing facilities management projects.
• Advise on best practices for irrigation management, focusing on sustainability and resource conservation in line with Qatar's environmental goals.

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in irrigation systems design, installation, and maintenance.
• Proficient in irrigation software and technologies, including AutoCAD and GIS.
• Experience with water resource management and sustainability practices.
• Knowledge of Qatar's local regulations and standards for irrigation and water use.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and improve irrigation system efficiency.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and across disciplines.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed within project sites.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
