We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a Deck Operative/ Banksman
Job Purpose:
- Assist carrying out all Lifting operations, Vessel, Deck and Helicopter operations safely in accordance with procedures.
- Act as a member of the Offshore Emergency Response Team in the event of an incident to ensure minimal harm to personnel, environment and asset.
- Contribute to the development and review of risk assessments to ensure that hazards have been identified, adequate mitigations are in place and risk has been reduced.
Your main duties will be to:
- Safely assist in operation of various lifting and deck activities within safe working load (SWL).
- Work at height within operational limits.
- Assist in completion of preventive maintenance work.
- Optimise the safe offloading and loading of cargo to and from supply vessels.
- Oversee the safe transfer of personnel to and from shuttle vessels.
- Provide visible leadership to personnel to ensure safety targets are met.
- Promote NOC core values by being a safety role model, showing trust, respect and commitment, fostering collaboration across the organization.
- Promote cost consciousness to embed a strong cost culture.
- Drive an incident-free environment by establishing and maintaining a strong incident-free culture.
- Actively participate in and promote company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures that ensure personal safety and that of colleagues at all times.
- Ensure compliance with Operating Procedures and Guidelines to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety and Plant Integrity.
Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).
- Driver certificate (A certificate) issued by a recognized educational institute.
- Experience with seatrax pedestal cranes, Liebherr and hydro lift or similar.
Relevant
Work Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
Mandatory required certificate:
OPITO Standard (Dangerous Goods by Air / HOIT/ HERTM certification and Banksman and Slinger Certification)
You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication.
You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
