Responsibilities
- Project Execution: responsible for HSSEQ leadership, establishing a program of initiatives and auditing schedule to proactively address HSSE and quality management issues throughout project delivery.
- Tiering and interface: categorize projects into the appropriate Tier using Wood’s Right Size Solutions procedure and create Interface Management Plans and interface registers as applicable.
- Scope framing and delivery: frame project scopes of work per phase, facilitate preparation of CTRs, cost estimates, delivery schedules with contingency allowances, obtain client approval, review POs, and manage execution under the contract for the agreed scope.
- Commercial and finance: assist the Portfolio Delivery Manager with contract Profit & Loss, deliver projects within agreed cost and schedule, and ensure compliance with Wood’s commercial/financial framework and risk management.
- Cost control and planning: input into annual budget/forecasts, allocate costs, ensure timely weekly timecards, and support client reviews for hours booked, to avoid delays in accounts/billing and cash collection.
- Team organization and leadership: organize the project team, define responsibilities, motivate and lead regular project meetings, delegate work, and provide leadership to manage stakeholder interfaces.
- Schedule and deliverables: coordinate the development of project delivery schedules and master deliverables register (MDR), identify schedule critical path, delivery KPIs, milestones and realistic activity durations per phase.
- Quality and technical compliance: ensure compliance with technical specifications, client engineering standards, and quality standards for engineering documents, equipment packages and construction materials.
- Change management: identify potential scope changes early, agree adoption or exclusion, and follow up with formal Change Requests and PO amendments with client approval.
- Innovation and efficiency: pursue opportunities for innovation and cost/schedule savings, use Wood work share/GEC as appropriate to maximize value.
- Reporting and documentation: ensure weekly progress reporting and accuracy of dashboards, maintain project document folders, minutes, action trackers, decision logs and risk registers with SMART mitigations and timely closure.
- Stakeholder management and interfaces: guide a multidisciplinary team including external specialists and multiple sites, manage information systems, maintain confidentiality, participate in assurance activities and lead lessons learned.
- Risk and issue resolution: attend to conflicts and challenges in a large multi-cultural workforce; participate in design reviews, value engineering, risk management workshops, HAZOPs/HAZIDs/LOPAs/SIL/PSHERs/IPRs as applicable; ensure technical bid evaluations are conducted by competent personnel.
- Lead by example in project delivery in line with Wood policies and ethical standards, and comply with applicable laws and policies.
- Coach and mentor others, empowering team members to decide within set parameters and competencies, with appropriate escalation when needed.
