Piping Engineer - Valve Specialist

Responsibilities
  • Drive an Incident Free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Responsible for ensuring positive HSE performance by personnel, contractors and others working under the guidance of the Lead Static.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, company standards and procedures under the area of responsibility to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and responsible environmental attitude.
  • Provide safe and efficient mechanical "first line" support on defined issues and contribute through application of expertise and knowledge as part of the Static team (Piping, valves & vessels), in line with organizational strategic objectives, targets and plans.
  • Review Vendor offers for Piping components, specialties & valves. Provide Scope of work. Prepare requisitions for quotations, TQs, technical bid evaluations, purchase specifications, and review/approve vendor drawings/documents for valves.
  • Assist inspection department to approve various vendor documents/procedures like pressure tests, painting, welding, and packing & preservation, etc.
  • Valve selections, analyze materials, trim options and operators; devise solutions to diverse actuator and valve applications based on process, costs, environment & integrity issues.
  • Review/approve datasheets, vendor offers and documentation for valves, piping specialties.
  • Provide timely piping engineering support and troubleshooting assistance to other departments, including input to project concepts and engineering review of piping designs.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and consistent piping design in compliance with internal guidelines, current international standards and industry practices.
  • Piping component selection work, appraise piping systems and their application to abnormal situations; devise solutions to diverse design, material, environment, cost and integrity issues.
  • Assure pipe supports philosophies and standards understand applicable industry safety and integrity codes; approve and confirm design audits, company operational, safety and reliability practices.
  • Provide technical and administrative support, relating to Valves and PSV's, to the site base operations.
Qualifications
  • Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).
  • Relevant

    Work Experience:

    Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
  • You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication.
  • You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • High School Diploma / Technical certificate in Discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years recent experience in the petrochemical, refining, oil/gas exploration and/or production industries in a similar role.
