Job Title: Commissioning Lead - Process and Piping

Location: Doha, Qatar (Onshore and Offshore) and Asia (Fabrication Yard)

Contract Type: Contract Assignment

Mobilisation Date: February 2026

End Date: August 2027

Work Pattern:

  • Onshore assignment based at an overseas fabrication yard
  • Offshore rotation based in Qatar
  • Office and site based depending on project phase
Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Commissioning Lead specialising in Process and Piping to support the delivery of a major offshore energy development. The role involves coordinating construction, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning activities across multiple international sites, ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and ready for operation.

This position suits a senior commissioning professional who thrives in complex, multi‑discipline environments and takes ownership of system readiness from fabrication through offshore execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Commissioning Site Lead in coordinating contractor activities during construction, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases
  • Lead process and piping pre‑commissioning and commissioning preparation and execution at fabrication yards and offshore sites
  • Witness and verify system completion activities, including punch list review and close‑out
  • Coordinate vendor support required for assigned systems and ensure scope completion
  • Lead discipline supervisors and coordinate multi‑discipline activities to meet system completion milestones
  • Ensure commissioning activities are executed safely and in line with approved procedures and schedules
  • Compile and review system handover documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to acceptance by operations
  • Confirm systems are fully prepared for commissioning and start‑up
  • Promote and enforce site HSE requirements and proactively intervene where unsafe conditions are identified
Pre‑Commissioning and Commissioning Preparation
  • Review and support development of pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures and execution plans
  • Ensure commissioning documentation, reporting tools, and tracking systems are prepared and maintained
  • Maximise onshore commissioning activities to minimise offshore execution time
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders to manage interfaces
  • Ensure availability of spares, consumables, tools, and specialist equipment required for commissioning
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing when required
Commissioning Execution
  • Lead and monitor execution of process and piping commissioning activities to meet schedule targets
  • Oversee system testing activities including flushing, pressure testing, leak testing, and preservation
  • Ensure accurate recording, tracking, and close‑out of punch items
  • Provide technical support to contractors and discipline teams
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and final commissioning progress reports
  • Ensure all activities comply with permit‑to‑work systems, risk assessments, and approved method statements
  • Lead safety briefings and toolbox talks for assigned systems
  • Coordinate vendor commissioning activities including testing, documentation, and punch list close‑out
  • Manage handover of commissioning spares and special tools to operations teams
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in offshore oil and gas projects
  • Strong commissioning background with several years in a lead role covering process and piping systems
  • Proven leadership capability with strong coordination and problem‑solving skills
  • Solid understanding of international engineering, commissioning, and HSE standards
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, complex, and multicultural environments
  • Willingness to travel and work internationally as required
  • Fluent English required
  • Strong computer literacy and reporting skills
Health and Safety
  • Relevant offshore safety certifications required prior to mobilisation
