Construction Interface Engineer – Shell Qatar GTL Project (Doha, Qatar)

Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Interface Engineer to join the Shell Qatar GTL project in Doha, Qatar.

Responsibilities
  • Support the engineering team during design development and ensure constructability is fully embedded in the design, with the focus on engineering in support of optimized (safe, cost‑ and schedule‑efficient) execution.
  • Provide input in the documents as described in section V “construction interfaces”.
  • Independently prepare for workshops as described in section V “construction interfaces”, including pre‑read, lead the workshop and report out.
  • Drive the implementation of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) in the portfolio.
  • Ensure CSoW plan is prepared at the beginning of Define phase, identifying which scopes are combined in which CSoW (as per AWP).
  • Deliver construction scope of work documents for the execute phase, which are issued to the Implementation contractor.
  • Act as integrator to ensure timely alignment with MTAC construction team & Operations and ensure all comments are incorporated in the design and deliverables.
  • Be familiar with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and willing to become skilled through training.
  • Remain office‑based but visit the site once a week to ensure close alignment with the MTAC construction team and Operations and verify assumptions in engineering and constructability through site visits.
Experience & Qualifications

Reflecting the market focus for the office in both brownfield and green‑field opportunities, multi‑skilled personnel are sought, in particular those with experience in:

  • Onshore Oil and Gas
  • Offshore Oil and Gas

Required experience:

  • BSc., University in Engineering
  • Experience and skill set
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in brown‑field Oil and Gas related project engineering with a multi‑disciplinary workforce
  • Experience in both engineering and execution phases, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction role during the execution phase.
