Senior Mechanical Engineer Rotating Equipment – Doha, Qatar

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer Rotating Equipment for a national oil and gas operator in Doha Qatar. Candidates must have a 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry of which 6 years should be in Rotating Equipment Engineering. Fluency in English is a must.

• Provide technical design and engineering services in Rotating Equipment Engineering for all assigned engineering projects, achieving the technical quality of work in accordance with procedures whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE.
• Conduct Rotating Equipment Engineering activities and in‑house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED detailed design and commissioning.
• Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in workscopes and whilst conducting Rotating Equipment Engineering activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
• Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements.
• Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multidisciplinary workscopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the workscope is comprehensive and clear.
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, update and monitor schedules for in‑house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
• Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices.
• Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of coworkers.

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered/ Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry of which 6 years should be in Rotating Equipment Engineering.
• Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Rotating Equipment Engineering.
• Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
• Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.
