• 6 years’ experience within industrial safety and loss prevention in the oil and gas industry of which 4 years in a major LNG project/ production facilities.
• Experienced in risk assessments, safe systems of work, and emergency procedures, preferably in a major project environment.
• Good command in the following risk, process safety and design aspects:
• HAZID, HAZOP, Bow Tie Analysis, Physical Effects Modelling.
• Quantitative Risk Assessments.
• Hazardous area classification and layout safety.
• Fire and Gas detection.
• Active fire fighting.
• Passive fire protection.
• Escape, Evacuation, Mustering and Emergency Response.
• Developing Design Safety Case.

• Develop and implement Lead Loss Prevention (LP) engineering activities including development of philosophies, codes of practice and standards during FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning and start-up to ensure compliance with NFXP standards. Review contractor’s loss prevention, SHE risks, process safety engineering design deliverables and support the FEED/EPC contractor by providing clear and timely guidance to close out LP studies/activities to complete engineering design milestones.
• The role requires conducts technical evaluations of multiple tenders for large capital projects.
• Indirectly supervises contractor’s Loss Prevention Engineering personnel to effectively steward the Loss Prevention scope in accordance with project requirements, from contract award until delivery.
• Maintain effective working relationships with contractor and stakeholders (e.g. Operations and SHEQ) to ensure alignment on overall delivery of Loss Prevention scope in accordance with project requirements and plan.
• Define scope, review and verify a large number of SHEs studies in a timely manner to make design decisions to meet project execution milestones.
• Make practical judgements and make decisions on LP issue resolution.
