We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a :
Basic functionOversee the quality activities for E&C and FOPS entities, confirm the fabricator complies with the fabricator QMS documents, contract, company standards and international standards. Ensure that all interfaces with relevant parties are correctly managed.
Roles & Responsibilities- Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
- Issues the relevant Quality Records and verifies conformity of the work to specified Quality Requirements, ensuring that the inspections and controls are carried out and documented; issues non‑conformance reports when necessary.
- Surveils welding parameters and consumables during installation/construction activities, supervising welding operations.
- Reviews welding procedures and welders’ qualifications to ensure correct and approved procedures are used.
- Checks the availability and suitability of the filler material and of the pre‑heating, welding, heat‑treatment, beveling, and extent of repairs made by various welders, taking corrective actions and ensuring heat‑treatment record diagrams are complete.
- Performs pipe line‑up checks, ensuring all installed pipe/fittings are of the correct specification and that the material meets the specified Material Traceability requirements.
- Carries out visual inspections.
- Performs dimensional compliance inspections against drawings.
- Monitors welding repairs.
- Accepts and approves Non‑Destructive Test (NDT) inspection reports and performs radiographic film reviews.
- Checks readiness of NDT equipment.
- Ensures that all welding, heat treatment, hardness testing, inspection and non‑destructive testing comply with relevant codes and specifications.
- Collects and manages welding and testing documents, ensuring a complete record of all welding and testing related documentation that reflects the ‘As Built’ condition.
- Ensures the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan by the contractor where applicable.
- Examines work in progress visually and supervises repair procedures effectively.
- Reviews welding requirements for field‑erected structures, vessels, tanks, boilers and other process plants.
- Provides background on E&I works installation relative to the scope of work.
- Graduated with a minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three‑year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in planning and skills in planning integrated activities at an offshore level on‑field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
- Fluent in English with both written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills, good computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
