Sr. Systems Engineer; Data Center Servs
Primary Purpose of the Job
The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the strategic on‑going planning, design, and enhancement of compute, storage and other infrastructure solutions in a hybrid environment (on‑prem data center as well as in the cloud such as Azure and Google). The focus will be on providing a robust, highly available, responsive, secure, and scalable server environment while minimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and maximizing Return on Investment (ROI) by deploying state‑of‑the‑art technologies, best practices, policies, processes, and procedures.
As a subject matter expert, provide technical consultancy to ICT management and staff while providing 2nd & 3rd level support for engineers and technicians during and after office hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Certification from leading cloud service providers such as Microsoft and Google.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in a directly related field, including at least 5 years of technical experience in Microsoft Windows Servers, VMWare Cloud foundation and Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS.
- Strong experience with cloud‑native architectures and cloud adoption best practices
- Strong architectural skills and expertise within the data center infrastructure environment including capacity planning, performance analysis, and systems management integration
- Ability to understand business requirements and then propose IT solutions to meet business objectives
- Experience in containerization platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Red Hat Open Shift (RHOS).
- Working knowledge of cloud networking, security and automation tools using Power Shell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Troubleshooting skills with Active Directory Infrastructure, Azure AD, Group Policies, Power Shell, Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Desirable experience in Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Desirable knowledge of industry security practices around file system, identity management, server hardening and vulnerabilities
- Familiar with networking technologies and security protocols.
- Knowledge of security and control frameworks, familiar with Project Management and Change Management processes
- Strong collaboration & communication skills to clearly convey ideas, instructions, and feedback to several team members.
- Experience on Google cloud will be an added advantage
