Senior Mechanical​/Piping Engineer

Perform mechanical and piping engineering activities for Projects Engineering Support Division ensuring that all activities comply with standardised processes and are delivered to the highest standards.

• Reports to Lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Interface with Engineering & Projects (E&P) and Operations, HSE&Q, at Lead & Head Level.
• Interface with Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC), EPC Contractors and 3rd party Companies.
• Occasional contact with shareholders and government bodies.
• Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks while providing expertise in specialised area.
• As defined for this job level in the Delegation of Authority and/or approved budget.
• Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.
• Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti-trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.
• Ensure mechanical and piping design engineering activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations if any.
• Resolve engineering issues that may arise and communicate with the Project Execution Team. Elevate issues to higher levels when necessary.
• Develop, update and amend various policies and procedures related to Projects Management Department as and when required in consultation with the Head of Projects Engineering Support and other team members.
• Evaluate complex tasks and provide appropriate recommendations to management on issues. Provide support to other disciplines and contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks.
• Uphold all Project Philosophies and Procedures and ensure that these are applied to the specification, design and procurement of piping items.
• Support other engineers in complex analyses and assignments and provides expertise to ensure completion of activities within schedule.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science majoring in Engineering in the area of specialization.
• 6 years' experience in area of specialization within oil and gas industry of which 4 years are in project management team role.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Attain and maintain competence in accordance with the technical competence framework requirements.
• Conversant with Qatar Energy LNG company, National and internationally accepted specifications.
• Computer literate, with advanced knowledge of all relevant engineering software tools, systems and tools.

• Day Rate in USD Plus Allowance

• 10 Hours / 6 Days
• 26 days/month

• 24 months, with possible extension
