This Position reports to:
Project Manager, PAEN

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost‑effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

The work model for the role is:
Onsite.

This role is contributing to the Projects and Services of PAEN in Qatar. Main stakeholders are Project team, Project Manager and Service Delivery Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify engineering errors.
• Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
• Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in‑house and outsourced) on projects.
• Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.

• Graduate Engineer in Electrical/ Electronic/ Instrumentation Engineering
• Immersed in, engaged in, absorbed in, highly skilled in, and enjoy working with 800xA, AC800M, AC800M HI, Infi
  90 and Symphony systems and the Oil & Gas / Power & Water market
• Minimum 12 years of experience, of which at least 8 years as customer support / project / service engineer of System 800xA‑based 800M / 800M HI / Infi
  90 / Symphony systems preferably in Oil & Gas / Power & Water industry
• Multidiscipline support
• Effective utilization of service contracts
• Working in service projects and major projects for system 800xA‑based ICSS
• Team size:
  Lead Engineer with 5 to 10 virtual reports as per project execution organogram (no line management)
• Rendering technical validation of design solutions in medium and complex projects
• Hands‑on experience as Project Lead for system 800xA‑based control system (both hardware and software) with 9800M/ Infi
  90 / Symphony Plus / system 800xA‑based application development – project & commissioning
• Hands‑own experience in system installation and maintenance
• Hands‑on Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration
• Hands‑on experience in Cyber security solutions for 800xA systems; able to do cybersecurity audits and assessments, Cybersecurity implementation experience
• Analytical thinker, self‑starter, resilient and highly adaptable – in line with ABB’s latest advance service & digital portfolio
• Experience with industrial communication protocols like Modbus‑RTU & TCP, OPC.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle stress and have the ability to use own initiative
• Highly adaptive, analytic and quick learner – inline with ABB’s latest advance service & digital portfolio
• Giving training to customers
• Working in offshore installed base
