Assistant Project Manager
Avanceon is looking to hire Assistant Project Manager in Projects Division at its Qatar Office.
This is a developmental role leading toward full Project Manager responsibilities within Avanceon’s Projects Division. High-performing APMs will gain exposure to complex automation systems, customer engagement, and international project standards — paving the way for leadership roles in project and program management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
Support Project Manager in preparing detailed execution plans, schedules, and progress reports using Avanceon’s project control templates.
Coordinate between internal departments (Engineering, SCM, Finance, QA/QC, Site) to ensure timely task completion.
Track project milestones, material deliveries, and resource mobilization plans.
Maintain and update project dashboards and status trackers per PMO reporting standards.
Assist in preparing or reviewing system architecture diagrams, control philosophies, I/O lists, FAT/SAT protocols, and project submittals.
Support Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT), including documentation and punch-list closure.
Manage document transmittals to ensure submissions comply with Avanceon’s document control procedures.
Assist in monitoring project cost sheets, billing milestones, and subcontractor claims.
Support preparation of variation orders, change requests, and project correspondence.
Coordinate with SCM on supplier follow-ups, logistics, and BOQ alignment.
Participate in client meetings, document minutes (MoMs), and update action trackers.
Coordinate with site teams on installation, testing, and commissioning progress.
Follow up on punch-list closure and ensure documentation completion prior to handover.
Solid understanding of PLC and SCADA systems (preferably Siemens PCS7, S7-400/1500, WinCC).
Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control system architecture drawings.
Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and project reporting tools.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks.
Proactive learner with a positive attitude and commitment to project excellence.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering.
10-12 years of experience in industrial automation or control system projects, ideally within a system integrator or EPC environment.(4-5 years in Middle East)
Experience in Oil & Gas, Water, or Manufacturing sectors is a strong advantage.
