Diving Superintendent

Diving Superintendent – Doha, Qatar

We are looking to hire a Diving Superintendent for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. This is a long‑term contract (2 to 4 years) for an offshore rotational role.

Only candidates who already hold a valid QID and reside in Qatar will be considered. Nationalities from Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Israel, Congo, Afghanistan, and Libya are not accepted.

• Overall responsibility for diving activities including vessel deployment preceding and during diving deployment aboard the vessel.
• Review, comment, and approve contractor‑submitted procedures, dive plans, method statements and provide input when developing new work instructions and procedures.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and in compliance with approved engineering standards, client regulations and IMCA standards.
• Monitor, control and supervise all diving activities onboard the DSV vessel.
• Coordinate with marine (dive boat section) and manage inspections of dive boats, the dive spread, IMCA audit/inspection punch lists, and ensure mobilization complies with client regulations and IMCA guidelines.
• Issue Daily Progress Reports to projects and propose mitigation measures.
• Ensure diving operations are carried out from a safe location, following the Air and Nitrox Dive Manual and the Diving Project Plan.
• Hold and document Safety Meetings, Risk Assessments regularly; participate actively in JSAs, MOCs and daily progress meetings.
• Report all Hazard Observations, Safe Act, Unsafe Act & Conditions, Near Misses & Incidents.
• Proactively maintain safety during site construction, installation and diving activities in live plant, ensuring compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations.
• Make decisions on project issues within the framework of contract documents under the supervision of the Head Construction or client Representative.
• Efficiently manage all diving activities.
• Work long hours, including outdoor field work, in a multidisciplinary multicultural environment.
• Maintain sound interpersonal relationships and effective communication within client and contractor teams.

• Higher National Certificate (HNC), Diploma or relevant apprenticeship from recognized universities with extensive offshore installation/diving experience. Diploma qualification is not mandatory if holding one of the following certificates:
  • IMCA Closed Bell Diver
  • IMCA Air Diving Supervisor
  • IMCA Bell/Saturation Diving Supervisor (Class III)
  • NDT Operator Level 2 (Optional)
• Minimum 10‑15 years of experience in offshore construction/installation/diving, including 8 years in the oil & gas industry.
• Offshore Air Diving and Saturation Diving Supervisor experience.
• Hands‑on experience preferred in:
  • Boat Landing Replacement
  • Riser J‑Tube Installation and subsea spool tie‑in
  • Umbilical installation including ITubes
  • Water Jetting removal of debris and marine growth from jackets and other subsea assets
  • Spool and PLEM tie‑in with ROV simultaneous operation
  • Pipelay and jackets installation
  • Removal of redundant riser and pipelines from seabed
• Ability to identify potential bottlenecks or problems related to diving activities and suggest solutions.
• Good communication and report‑writing skills.
