Head of Construction (Brownfield / Hook-up)

We are partnering with a client based in Qatar to source a Head of Construction (Brownfield / Hook-up) for a residential contract that will be based in Qatar.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering.

• 10 years of experience on large construction projects in related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) within the Oil & Gas industry, including 2 years in a supervisory role with oversight of service/vendor personnel. Additional relevant experience may substitute for technical education.
• Proven knowledge of project execution procedures and field management techniques, including fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, and completions.
• Experience with oil and gas companies, contractors, service providers, or heavy construction companies.

• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during the fabrication process.
• Lead the delivery of all hook‑up and brownfield scope, minimizing impact on operations and aligning with stakeholder expectations.
• Supervise and control contractor/subcontractor activities related to HUC greenfield and brownfield construction, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, project documentation, and applicable international standards.
• Validate constructability aspects and compliance with all technical requirements of deliverables provided by the engineering team and contractors.
• Review deviations to Qatar Energy LNG construction standards, provide comments, and deliver a consistent dossier for construction activities.
• Identify areas of concern regarding progress and/or quality, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Review contractors' progress reports, highlighting critical problems, drifts, and dysfunctions.
• Liaise with contractors/subcontractors on all structure, MC, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning matters to ensure progress follow‑up and reporting.
• Lead and contribute to risk assessment kick‑off meetings, pre‑job meetings, and technical meetings as required by the company’s referential.
• Participate in REX and lessons‑learned sessions, implementing lessons from previous Qatar Energy LNG projects and capturing construction lessons for the current project.
