Job Description
The SCM Commercial Specialist is highly visible to internal stakeholders of Vodafone Qatar and a key member of the Supply Chain Management Team, based in Vodafone Qatar.
The role will engage across multiple business departments for the delivery of SCM Projects, manage challenges and build close liaison with key stakeholders i.e. Finance Business Partners, Departmental Business Owners, Executive Team, Suppliers.
The person on the role is ensure to deliver savings in OPEX & CAPEX and working towards cost optimisation. Being working closely with the Bids team (Enterprise Business Unit) and the other business teams, the role will require the individual to identify opportunities and deliver maximum value to the bids process (recurring products and/or services; partnerships where strategic suppliers are selected through defined criteria across multiple domains where Vodafone can benefit from supplier experience to bid together for opportunities and develop new products;
be-spoke solutions where services or products required are not provided by the suppliers listed in the recurring or partnership list and it requires unique and specialised expertise, or a new specific supplier/product/service has been nominated by the customer).
The role is responsible to work with the relevant areas of the business whilst building and managing a process performance framework to deliver financial and operational efficiencies, process improvements and governance / adherence.
Responsibilities- Manage, develop and execute spend category strategies (Bid Management, Strategy, Finance, Human Resources, Property, Marketing, and Legal) and to ensure efficiency and value throughout the bidding process.
- Manage OPEX & Capex Budgets for the categories and identify cost saving initiatives (SCM projects). Provide regular ongoing project and cost saving initiative updates to Head of Supply Chain. And accountable for executing Vodafone Qatar tender committee’s actions.
- Accountable for the development and implementation of the Tendering processes, negotiate agreements for products and services. Introduce new and alternative sources of supply to ensure quality and reliable supply of goods and services at the optimal total cost.
- Leads and owns the relationship with the GTC/LTC.
- Responsible for the vendor creation process. Assess supplier capabilities, evaluate & recommend proposals and execute contractual agreements.
- Collaborate with the legal team & business owners to create the contractual agreement and scope of work.
- Validate departmental purchase orders and awareness of the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process. And align with Vodafone way of working & adhere to the Vodafone Policies – Code of Ethical Purchasing, Business Principles, Anti-Bribery.
- Manages and ensures the usage of Supply Chain tools, processes, policies and standards. Responsible for developing and executing TC’s guidelines and instructions using the Vodafone procurement tendering process.
- Performs related tasks consistent with skills and abilities and general responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.
- Bachelors in business administration, finance, marketing, or similar relevant field.
- 5 years relevant and in-depth procurement & supply chain experience, preferably with exposure to the commercial industry.
- Must have bid management experience, particularly in generating value and driving efficiency with category & Project management experience.
- ERP experience on procurement Module.
- Able to prepare strategies / roadmaps with experience in managing tenders is essential.
- Procurement and Supply Chain with negotiation and analytical skills.
- Risk Management & Health and Safety acumen.
- Commercial and legal acumen
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), with expertise in reporting.
