Overview OfThe Role
The Workshop Supervisor leads a productive team of associates within the workshop to achieve business targets. The primary focus is to control and guide repair and maintenance activities, ensuring maximum productivity and technical efficiency, while balancing service revenue targets and high customer satisfaction through quality workmanship delivered on time. The supervisor utilises strong people management and technical skills to handle customer interactions and internal team dynamics, ensuring compliance with dealership standards.
A key element is ensuring the safety and effective utilisation of equipment, alongside continuous development and motivation of technicians.
- Work Bays Utilisation: workshop capacity planning and loading, optimising productivity, efficiency and workshop output, reviewing for continuous improvement, controlling productive time and allocation, administering technicians’ time booking and updating in the incentive system, controlling and planning carry‑over jobs and work in progress, ensuring safety and security of associates on the floor.
- Dealership Standards: implementing dealer standards on the workshop floor, ensuring "Fix it Right First Time" and conducting quality inspection, effective utilisation and maintenance of tools and equipment in the workshop.
- Customer Satisfaction: ensuring a quality job at a competitive price and timely delivery of vehicles, informing service advisors of additional repair jobs to ensure necessary repairs.
- Training & Development: motivating associates by providing encouragement and guidance, nominating associates for required training courses, conducting quality performance development reviews with technicians, effective daily and weekly meetings with the technicians team, inducting new technicians with standard service and repair processes.
- Field Technical Reports: assisting technical support manager with quality inspection check sheets, managing product concerns and following the escalation process, maintaining service bulletins and workshop manuals.

The Role
- Diploma or Bachelor of Automobile/Mechanical Engineering
- 5 to 7 years of overall experience with an automobile dealership
- Minimum 3 years in Service Dept. at supervisor level
- Knowledge of automotive dealer/distributor business processes
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- ERP skills
- Strong people and technical skills
