Document Controller Doha Qatar Overview
The Document Controller is responsible for managing and controlling the flow of documents in and out of the project, ensuring all documentation is properly categorized, stored, and accessible to authorized personnel. This role requires working closely with project teams to ensure that documentation is tracked, reviewed, and maintained according to company standards. The Document Controller will also play a key role in ensuring that Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) are utilized effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Maintain and manage the document control system (EDMS) for storing, tracking and retrieving all project‑related documents.
- Ensure all documentation meets company standards in terms of format, content and accuracy before submission.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers and other team members to ensure timely delivery of documents.
- Organize and archive documents, ensuring security and compliance with company policies.
- Track document versions and revisions, ensuring proper documentation of changes and updates.
- Provide support in retrieving documents as required by project teams and external stakeholders.
- Prepare regular reports on document status and outstanding documentation.
- Ensure that all documents are properly filed and easily accessible for audits or reviews.
- Provide training or support to project teams on EDMS and document control processes.
Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field.
Certifications / Specialization / IT SkillsProficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Experience working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
Years of ExperienceMinimum 6 years of experience in document control, preferably in the oil and gas construction or engineering industries.
Technical KnowledgeDocument Management Systems:
In‑depth working experience with EDMS, including creating and managing document workflows, tracking revisions and ensuring secure storage.
MS Office Expertise:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, with the ability to generate reports and track document status effectively.
Attention to Detail & Organization: Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of documentation with precision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.
Communication &
Collaboration:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to ensure timely and accurate document control.
