Thrift Store Cashier-Clerk-Sorter

Job Objective: Within store guidelines, sorts product, prepares items for sale, and assists customers with their purchases.

Essential Functions:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school academic background preferred.
• Prior sales experience or experience working with people in a service capacity preferred.
• N/A for certifications/licenses.

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to understand basic written materials and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Ability to handle basic cash transactions.

Supervisory Responsibility: May supervise volunteers and community service workers.

Physical Requirements: Includes speaking, hearing, vision, manual dexterity; bending, squatting, walking; ability to lift, pull, and push up to 25 pounds; sit for 2-3 hours, stand for 4-6 hours. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

Travel: May occasionally accompany the Thrift Store driver on pickup runs.

Driving: None.

Working Conditions: Typical retail setting.
