ICU Registered Nurse (RN) travel assignment in Dixon, Illinois (61021) — 13-week critical care opportunity in a modern ICU with EPIC charting. Join a supportive multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality critical care in the Rock River community.
Job Details — ICU RN / Travel Nurse- Location: Dixon, Illinois (61021) — Rock River area
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7a–7p)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020–$2130
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-site critical care
- Unit: ICU (6 beds, 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio)
- Weekend & Holiday Requirement: Every other
- Charting System: EPIC
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois (or documentation that Illinois application has been initiated)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing or critical care RN experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
- PALS and NIH Stroke certifications preferred
- Experience with ventilators, temporary pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, hemodynamic monitoring, BiPAP, and titrating drips
- Ability to float to Med-Surg, Emergency Department (ED), or Behavioral Health (BHC) units if experienced
- Negative drug screen required
- Deliver safe, evidence-based critical care nursing for ICU patients with diagnoses such as STEMI, heart block, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, COVID-19, and influenza
- Titrate continuous infusions including Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, nor epinephrine (levophed), vasopressin, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, and phenylephrine (neosynephrine)
- Collaborate with monitor technicians and sign off on cardiac strips three times per shift
- Participate in team conferences for acute inpatient rehab when applicable (day shift)
- Work alongside nurse aides, PT/OT/SLP, pulmonary and cardiac rehab, and respiratory therapy to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
- Complete department orientation and follow hospital policies and critical care protocols
- Gain diverse critical care experience as an ICU RN in a modern, fast-paced ICU
- Work with a collaborative multidisciplinary team in a welcoming Rock River community
