SVCC, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as a Lead Instructor to help teach exciting classes based in A.I., Roblox,and Video Game Design!
This is a perfect job for K12 certified classroom teachers with summers off who want to teach children various types of new technology. Lead Instructors are adults who are responsible for the well‑being and education of the students. A lead instructor may have either a degree/experience in education or significant experience in one of the content areas. They must have a strong understanding of the course concepts being taught as well as any techniques and software involved.
Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the Black Rocket training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts and software used. In addition to teaching responsibilities, lead instructors are also responsible for the supervision of staff, equipment management, and enforcement of site policies. Training begins in spring 2026. This is a seasonal position. Experience with technology preferred, but not required.

The position is full day (8:30 am - 4:30 pm), Monday-Thursday, June 1st through June 25th.
Experience and SkillsQualifications for Lead Instructor:
- Bachelor’s degree (or nearly completed)
- Experience working with kids ages 8-14
Teaching Certification strongly preferred
Must be available the weeks listed above
Experience with programming, coding, game design, and technology is preferred but not required
Excellent problem‑solving skills
Duties of our Lead Instructors include, but are not limited to:
Prepare adequately by reviewing and internalizing the prepared curricula for the courses to be taught.
Prepare for and deliver multiple rotations of BRP curriculum per day to groups of up to 20 campers.
Familiarize oneself with the necessary software in order to educate and utilize in the classroom.
Implement the curriculum as written, adapting it as needed to improve the camper experience or accommodate individual campers.
Provide leadership, energy and camp spirit, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual campers.
Supervise Assistant Instructors working in your program area and inspire them to become excellent instructors.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in and outside the classroom.
This is a summer seasonal position. The hourly pay rate for the position is $25 per hour.
Training time is compensated at the same hourly classroom rate of $25/hour.
