Sales Bakery Cafe Shift Lead

Overview

This is a hands-on Shift Lead position, working side by side with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional guest service. Our bakery hours are 4:00 AM – 4:00 PM, offering early mornings but no late nights. As we celebrate our 45th year in business, we are looking for a dependable, motivated leader who wants to grow with a long-standing, family-oriented business.

The Shift Lead supports daily operations, sets the tone for the team during their shift, and helps maintain our high standards for service, quality, and cleanliness.

• Lead by example while working alongside the team during your shift
• Open and/or close the bakery and ensure smooth shift transitions
• Support and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service
• Oversee daily operations including food service, order flow, and barista support
• Assist with training new team members on service standards, food safety, and bakery procedures
• Ensure proper cash handling and accurate use of POS systems (Square POS experience preferred)
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the bakery
• Address guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally
• Communicate effectively with management regarding staffing, operations, and shift needs

• Previous leadership or shift-lead experience in a bakery, café, or food service environment preferred
• Strong communication and people skills
• Ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced, early-morning environment
• Comfortable with cash handling and point-of-sale systems (Square POS a plus)
• Dependable, organized, and solution-oriented
