General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks during all working hours and may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Additional tasks may be requested to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; maintains clear egress to emergency exits and reports any unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times and recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assists Customers in any way necessary; is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets Customers with eye contact, smiling, and polite greetings throughout the store and thanks customers at each register transaction.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customer Service calls and issues, escalating to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store and restrooms (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing supplies) and disinfect high-touch areas to support merchandise and customer areas.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor according to monthly presentation guidelines, maintaining merchandise/brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
  • Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follows MOS (Miss-Out-of-Stock) policies and notifies Store Leadership for disposal review and approval.
  • Follows policies and procedures for cash, checks, credit cards, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintains accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrates urgency to perform duties efficiently and adheres to Store best practices.
