Maria Montessori Academy is an independent school located in the Gordon Head area of Victoria, BC. We are currently seeking a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our dedicated Maintenance and Janitorial team.

This is a full-time position with some flexibility in scheduling. The successful candidate will join a team of two full-time staff responsible for the care, cleanliness, and upkeep of our school building and grounds.

• Minimum 18 months of experience in a similar maintenance or custodial role
• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
• Clear criminal record check

• Friendly and professional with strong communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently
• Highly organized and attentive to detail

• Able to perform repetitive tasks and handle physically demanding work
• Comfortable lifting heavy loads and performing tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling

• Clean and maintain floors, hallways, and stairwells (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing)
• Empty waste containers and manage recycling and garbage removal
• Clean windows, interior walls, ceilings, and bathrooms
• Perform minor repairs on furniture, fixtures, and school systems
• Move and arrange furniture, equipment, and supplies
• Maintain school grounds: mowing lawns, trimming plants, tending to gardens
• Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
• Perform general field and site maintenance
• Work independently and collaboratively as needed
