** We are seeking an experienced
** Quantity Surveyor
** to join our dynamic team on-site in Didcot. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in 400kV substation project, delivered under NEC 4 Option
C.This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-value infrastructure project, ensuring cost control, contract management, and overall commercial success.
** Key Responsibilities
**** Cost Management
*** Monitor and control project costs to ensure the project is delivered within budget.
* Prepare and review cost forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
* Validate and manage subcontractor and supplier payments.
** Contract Administration
*** Administer the NEC 4 Option C contract, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
* Manage Compensation Events (CEs) and variations, ensuring timely submissions and agreement.
* Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive project records.
** Risk and Value Management
*** Identify, analyze, and mitigate commercial risks.
* Assist in value engineering to optimize project performance and reduce unnecessary costs.
** Reporting
* ** Provide regular financial reports, including cost-value reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts.
* Present financial performance and risk updates to stakeholders.
** Collaboration
* ** Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
* Support the procurement team in evaluating and appointing subcontractors.
** Skills & Experience Required
**** Essential:
*** Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC 4 contracts, particularly Option
C.
* Excellent financial management and analytical skills.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CEMAR, MS Excel, or similar tools).
** Desirable:
*** Experience on power infrastructure or substation projects.
* Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
