Burch Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of its client for an Audit & Compliance Officer to support and strengthen compliance across a dynamic logistics operation. This role is critical in ensuring the organisation adheres to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards, including GDPR. You will work closely with management and operational teams to identify regulatory risks, ensure data accuracy, and promote a strong culture of compliance across the business.

Key Responsibilities Compile and prepare data for internal and external audits Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies Review outgoing data to ensure accuracy and GDPR compliance Identify irregularities and flag compliance risks within departments or sites Conduct spot checks and mini audits across operational teams Perform Right to Work checks and verify insurance compliance Maintain accurate, up-to-date compliance records and documentation Educate employees and contractors on compliance requirements and their impact Record audit findings and follow up with management to ensure corrective actions are implemented Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and streamlining Assist with information gathering for regulatory and client requests Compile and submit daily, weekly, or monthly compliance reports to senior management and clients Work with management to implement preventative measures to avoid future compliance breaches Communicate compliance issues clearly and effectively to internal teams Escalate concerns or breaches of process to line management as required Work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team Education & Experience Minimum 2 years experience in an audit, compliance, or regulatory role (logistics experience desirable) Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Confident communicator with the ability to explain compliance matters clearly Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Outlook Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
