THE QUEST CENTER has an immediate opening for the position of Executive Director to continue our 15 year tradition of providing quality music education for all children living in rural, lower‑income communities. The successful candidate will be a driven, entrepreneurial‑minded leader with basic understanding of business operations (non‑profit a plus), fundraising and a strong commitment to excellence. This position is based in Dickson, TN.
Responsibilities- Primary (required)
- Business Operations & Leadership:
Lead day‑to‑day operations consistent with The Quest Center's strategic vision and mission; help set strategy for programs and community engagement; set and manage annual budgets; manage all Quest Center resources; proactively manage deadlines for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activities. - Fundraising:
Identify, qualify and lead fundraising activities to help meet or exceed annual revenue projections, including private & corporate donor development, relationship management and retention, grant writing & other fundraising activities. - Relationships & Recruiting:
Be visible and active in the local community and beyond; ability to be respectfully aggressive with community outreach; develop relationships a pool of qualified instructors; student acquisition & retention. Serve as chief spokesperson representing the Quest Center's values and vision to external audiences with clarity and purpose.

- Digital Marketing:
Manage all social media marketing, strategy, effectiveness & measurement, including but not limited to content creation, editing, narrative and campaign management. - Website Maintenance:
Periodic site updates using Squarespace.
- Digital Marketing:
- Tertiary (optional; additional compensation)
- Program Delivery:
Classroom instructor; lead weekly small group classes (typically 5‑10 students) in instrument instruction. - Other tasks as may be assigned by Board members from time‑to‑time.
- Program Delivery:
- Understanding of basic business operations and budgeting.
- Ability to set and re‑asses priorities in real‑time while meeting hard deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Close attention to detail.
- Passion for children, education & the impact of music on essential skills development.
- Interpersonal, engagement and relationship building skills.
- Honest, forthcoming and respected in the community.
- Ability to set aside personal preferences to positively support the students we serve.
- Support & maintain the guiding culture set by leadership.
- Conduct all activities with the utmost level of professionalism, integrity and ethics consistent with the mission, values and goals of the Quest Center.
- Must submit to and pass background check.
The Quest Center is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit music education & youth development center located in Dickson, TN. We use music education to help empower and positively influence the lives of children living in rural, lower‑income communities - unconditionally. Our programs help students develop essential skills such as self‑confidence, positive self‑esteem, social skills, creative thinking skills, discipline, focus - skills that help them succeed in school and life.
And they can read and play music.
