General PurposeThe Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers with eye contact, smiles, and friendly conversation, treats colleagues with respect, follows company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. They may perform additional tasks as required to achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions- Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
- Assist customers with merchandise and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle all customer issues courteously.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks—sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, and replenishing restroom supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized.
- Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with urgency, merchandising per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, Shortage Highway, Store Protection Specialist (when applicable), and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions. Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and cash/charge‑card procedures.
- Execute store best practices and minimize steps and touches in workflow to maximize productivity.

- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Spend 100% of work time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
- Other qualifications may be required for certain assignments.
- For stockroom shifts: regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
