Psychology Internship

ABLE, Inc. has psychology internships for students providing support to people with disabilities in all aspects of their life. Our teams work well with a variety of scheduling needs for our employees accommodating school, athletics, and more. Interns complete a curriculum diving deep into a variety of topics related to the people we support which includes behavioral supports, dual diagnosis, building relationships/communication, trauma informed care and much more.

We encourage you to apply a couple months prior to your internship in order to get training completed so you can dig in further with the people you support during your internship program. Located in Dickinson, North Dakota.

• We assist you in becoming Developmental Disability Certified (which looks fabulous on a resume)!
• Interns fill backup or a part time positions, which offers benefits such as double time on holidays, 403b retirement plans, personal leave time for banked hours, and an employee assistance program.

Job requirements include required drug screening and driver's license is preferred. Some tasks include providing assistance with personal and health care needs, assisting with daily activities and supporting people to be involved in their community. Basically, you help people live their best life while digging into additional leadership, trauma-informed care and behavioral health practices! You will be supported by supervisors who are frequently available on-site providing modeling, evaluation and overall supervision.

ABLE, Inc. has a variety of shifts for DSPs on two week rotating schedules (see examples below), also overnight shifts available. With this rotating 2 week format, part-time employees work one weekend and then are off the next weekend. Schedules vary based on the available hours and needs of the people who reside at each location. When you interview, please be clear on the hours you are able to work as this helps us understand how your availability may fit within our current hiring needs.
