Department Details

The Dickinson West Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their nursing leadership team in the role of a Clinical Care Leader (CCL). The CCL will provide nursing leadership to the Obstetric, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Pediatric teams. No evenings, nights weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Leader (CCL) role facilitates health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to analyze data and appropriately respond to changing situations.
  • Communicates effectively to collaborate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with peers, inter-professional colleagues, patients and families.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, clinical support staff and the public.
  • Serves as a mentor to staff while assisting in facilitating overall clinic activities.
  • Participates in leadership roles on department/organizational task forces and committees as appropriate.
  • Uses the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
  • Coordinates care, conducts patient assessment and education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
  • Collaborates with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
  • Practices within the full scope of nursing knowledge and adheres to age/population-specific standards in the assigned clinical setting.
  • Functions within the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice and licensure.
  • Adheres to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications and care provided in compliance with applicable standards/regulations.
  • Utilizes technology to enhance quality patient care, collaborates with physicians and inter-professional team members, and delegates to and supervises unlicensed personnel while maintaining accountability for patient care.
  • Assists in conducting new staff training and orientation regarding operating rules and working standards.
  • Supports and assists in implementing established performance improvement policies and trains employees on these policies.
  • Follows up with risk management and training of clinical staff as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of safety hazards and creates a safe work environment.
  • Learns new concepts, processes and tools related to personal development and education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Fargo, Fargo Network, Bemidji, Sioux Falls Network and Rapid City. Required in Bismarck and Sioux Falls (Sanford USD Medical Center and Clinics).
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA.
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs; multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state is acceptable.
  • Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
  • Functions within the legal scope of practice.
