Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed

• First to float to Medical/Surgical or Emergency Room for 1:1 assignments

• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:2-3 depending on acuity

• 4-bed ICU unit with no charge nurse assignment (Emergency Room manages ICU)

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC/TCAR or trauma patient care experience

• Must pass fit testing for respiratory equipment (facial hair restrictions apply)

• Scrub color requirement:
Navy

• 3 twelve-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation provided

• Care for patients with DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, medical detox

• Manage arterial lines and central venous pressure monitoring

• Required to titrate ICU-typical drips and medications

• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators

• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently

• Use MEDITECH charting system

• Director creates schedule (no self-scheduling)

• Must demonstrate coachability, motivation, and strong teamwork skills

This healthcare facility operates a 4-bed intensive care unit providing critical care services for patients with complex medical conditions. The facility maintains high standards for patient safety and requires specialized equipment fit testing protocols. The ICU works closely with the emergency department for management oversight and focuses on treating patients with conditions such as diabetic keto acidosis, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac emergencies.
