Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant; COTA

Our organization is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide occupational therapy services to children and their families in various settings, including outpatient clinics, daycares, preschools, schools, clients' homes, and the community. We have recently incorporated equine movement, such as hippotherapy, into our services, making nature-based therapy options available. This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric development and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping children reach their full potential and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A special interest or experience in hippotherapy or equine movement is a plus.

Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program. Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) may be required.

State licensure or registration as required by the state of practice. Continuing education to maintain licensure may be necessary.

Experience working with children in clinical or educational settings is preferred. Internships or fieldwork during training may be required.

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Knowledge of child development and pediatric therapy techniques. Patience and empathy when working with children with diverse needs.

Ability to lift and carry children during therapy sessions. Physical stamina to engage in activities involving standing, bending, and kneeling.

First aid and CPR certification may be required. Background checks may be necessary, especially when working with children.
