Job Description

What you will be doing:
Patient Access Manager

  • Lead all daily Patient Access operations.
  • Assist in preparation for both short and long-range planning recommendations for all Registration Process areas.
  • Manage pre-service and point-of-service financial clearance activities and Patient Access functions.
  • Practice budget/cost management and develop action plans.
  • Manage all operational metrics to meet client and Conifer goals, including Service Level Agreements and budgetary guidelines.
  • Consistently manage staffing activities, including documentation of needs, selection of staff, wage/salary activities, orientation, and training.
  • Grow and mentor supervisors while ensuring staff engagement and commitment to strategy, mission, and goals.
  • Communicate proactively and positively with direct supervisors.
  • Enforce departmental policies, practices, procedures, and work rules in accordance with approved hospital policies.
  • Develop new policies according to hospital and corporate guidelines.
  • Communicate appropriate information and provide feedback to Director and CFO.
  • Report deficits and problems to supervisors with recommended solutions for improvement.
Experience you will need
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Health Care Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the relationship between Admitting, Clinical Areas, Financial Areas, and pre-service and point-of-service financial clearance activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems in Health Care Information Systems.
  • Clear understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and Regulatory Agencies.
  • Ability to communicate detailed information verbally and in writing.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to drive operational metrics.
