A Style Consultant is passionate about strong operations and providing an incredible guest experience, bringing the energy of style to life with in-store presentations that enable quick self-discovery. Style Consultants are welcoming and helpful in meeting guests needs on the sales floor and in the fitting room, ensuring the floor is set with the right product, accurately priced and signed on the salesfloor with the right sizes, styles, and colors.

At Target, we believe in meaningful experiences that help team members build and develop skills for a career. The role of a Style Consultant can provide you with the skills and experiences of:

• Guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
• Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies, and basic visual merchandising
• Industry trends including style, seasonality, and brand differentiation
• Set, fill, and price the floor according to what is most important to the guest

Responsibilities (typical day):

• Drive sales and deliver a guest-ready floor by executing visual standards, promotional signing, and staying knowledgeable on assortment and brand offerings to assist guests as needed
• Leverage store tools to understand sales and inventory ownership, and use tools to support guest needs
• Sort freight, push freight to the sales floor, and locate merchandise in the backroom based on business needs
• Set visual presentations and visual merchandising guides to support guest experience and sales
• Maintain product availability and a full floor by performing priority fills, manual fills, and merchandising to capacity
• Maintain backroom organization to support replenishment and guest requests
• Remerchandise presentations as items sell through to deliver an inspiring shopping experience
• Support price change processes and signing in accordance with merchandising best practices
• Maintain and use the fitting rooms to welcome, inspire, and help guests
• Support fulfillment and guest needs by moving merchandise from fitting rooms to the salesfloor as needed
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up, and Drive-up while complying with applicable laws
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete tasks
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs and thank them for shopping Target
• All other duties based on business needs

• You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays)

The Good News We offer training to teach you the essentials to be a Style Consultant. The following skills are helpful from the start:

• Strong interest and knowledge of apparel products and accessories
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly
• Remain focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks within time frames

We also expect:

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb ladders safely
• Scan, move, and handle merchandise safely, including lifting up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
• Work in varying temperatures and elements during duties such as Drive-Up and carryout
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of your shift
