The CompanyA small but growing online retailer is building out their Performance Marketing function. Right now, Google and Meta ad spend is overseen by the Marketing Manager but the business is getting bigger, the Marketing Manager is getting busier, and there’s some serious ad spend going on, so they’ve created a new role for someone who knows paid advertising well to join and look after it.
It’s a great step‑up role with clear development opportunities and the opportunity to experience how an in‑house performance function is built from the ground up.
Initially, you’ll focus on:
- Supporting the day‑to‑day running of paid advertising across Google Ads and Meta
- Getting hands‑on in the accounts to understand current structure, targeting, and performance
- Spotting wasted spend and quick wins
- Helping improve bidding, audiences, keywords, and campaign structure
- Reviewing existing campaigns and feeding back what’s working and what isn’t
- Take on more responsibility for campaign optimisation and performance improvements
- Help improve reporting and performance insight
- Contribute ideas to improve ROAS and profitability
- Support testing of new approaches, formats, or platforms where appropriate
- Play a key role in the gradual move towards more in‑house capability
Over time, there’s scope to:
- Grow into a more senior role within paid media
- Take ownership of larger areas of spend
- Progress towards managing junior support as the team develops
To be successful in this role you’ll need at least two years’ experience working in paid media, PPC, or performance marketing. You’ll feel confident making changes directly in ad accounts, analysing performance and spotting inefficiencies, and improving campaigns through testing and optimisation. You’ll need to be able to drive and have access to a car due to their out‑of‑town location.
