Planning Officer

Our Development Management Service helps deliver sustainable, well-designed development that supports our communities, economy and natural environment.

As a Planning Officer at a level 1, you will handle a range of planning applications, mainly household proposals, while gaining experience on broader projects alongside senior colleagues. This is a front-line role where you will make clear, well-reasoned recommendations and work closely with applicants, residents and partners. You will be supported by your manager and wider team, with mentoring and opportunities to learn and grow.

This is a career graded post, offering a clear pathway to progress as you build your skills and experience. The structure includes Planning Officer Levels 1 and 2, and Senior Officer. We will support you to build your knowledge and progress through the career-graded structure.
