Job Description

Eventide Heartland is currently looking for a part-time Cook. 24-hours per week. Cook position requires the hours of 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM every other weekend & 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM during the weekdays. Every other weekend and holiday rotation required. Additional hours may be available if worker is willing to work as a Culinary Assistant when not cooking.
On site childcare available from 5:30 AM – 11:00 PM 7-days a week. Childcare available after working an overnight shift for recovery hours.
On-site wellness center available free of charge 24-hours a day!

The Cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served to residents complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production procedures.

Requirements for Cook

-High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

-Prefer a minimum of 2 years cooking experience.

-Requires knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

-Catering and supervisory experience helpful.

Essential Job Functions for Cook
  • Prepares high quality meals according to standardized recipes.
  • Uses and directs the use of accurate portion control standards.
  • Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving meals.
  • Assures that sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen at all times.
  • Checks all menus daily in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared as needed.
  • Stores leftovers properly according to food handling standards.
  • Operates equipment in a correct, safe, sanitary and respectful manner.
  • Supervises the entire dining experience to ensure resident satisfaction of meal service.
  • Checks temperatures of food products and documents in temperature log.
  • Completes cleaning tasks as assigned according to schedule.
  • Cleans equipment and work area to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Inventories and orders food products; ensuring adequate inventory of items on hand.
