Job Summary & Responsibilities

As our Medical, Surgical and Pediatric Registered Nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health in Devils Lake, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Your primary responsibilities include assigning, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for all assigned patients of all ages—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You will manage all assigned personal supplies and equipment and promote teamwork with all members of the health‑care team.

Most of your patients are funneled in from other units, providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, critical care, OB, pediatrics, surgical services, and emergency care.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others—a patient‑first mindset, keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency support your career advancement in a fast‑paced clinical environment where you will rarely experience the same day twice.

• Deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
• Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
• Collaborate with a variety of other health‑care professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging
• Receive a $10,000 sign‑on incentive and relocation assistance

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active North Dakota (ND) Registered Nurse License, or compact state RN licensure accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA)
