Overview
Lake Region Behavioral Health Clinic – Devils Lake, ND. The home base for this position could be located in Rolla or Devils Lake. The Addiction Counselor role supports ND Department of Health & Human Services in ensuring access to high-quality healthcare, prevention, effective treatment, and recovery.
Travel and LocationServices are provided in homes and communities; travel is a norm. A state fleet vehicle will be available for use when traveling to clients.
Compensation and Benefits- Sign-on bonus may be available up to $13,000 and/or moving expenses up to $5,000.

- Complete level of care screenings and assist in developing integrated service plans.
- Provide short-term individual, family, and group counseling; crisis intervention and risk assessments in office, community, and on-call.
- Provide education and consultation to families, community, interns, and residents.
- Work in homes and communities to deliver rehabilitative, person-centered services; travel is a norm.
- To be considered:
Addiction Counselor requires a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology, AND current licensure as an Addiction Counselor (LAC) by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners. - If unable to fill with a Licensed Addiction Counselor, we would consider filling as Addiction Tech. Minimum qualifications include having completed all but two academic courses required for the addiction counseling field in a bachelor's or master's degree program; must complete all coursework, training, and/or tests and obtain an addiction counselor license from the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners within two years of hire.
- Valid drivers license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
