Daikin Europe is hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect
As a Cloud Solutions Architect
, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the roadmap that makes our Cloud and App solutions future‑proof. In doing so, you will help us — together with our partners — further expand our innovative, stable, and client‑oriented cloud platform across our full product range. Your role will be key in shaping a lean architecture that balances cost and performance for Daikin’s Cloud solutions.
EDC
The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest‑growing departments within the EMEA Development Centre (EDC) of Daikin. The department is responsible for the development and improvement of controls: room controls, unit controls, app controls, and cloud controls.
Our work involves:
- Embedded software development
- Hardware development
- Cloud and app development
Throughout the development process, we combine in‑house development with strategic cooperation from external partners to enhance our products, keeping them among the best in the industry. All Daikin departments collaborate closely to ensure high‑quality products for the Daikin EMEA market.
Your Role- Design, document, and visualize the architecture of our cloud services and supporting tools.
- Work closely with the product development team to ensure the design is supported and implemented.
- Act as an expert and coordinate with our dedicated technology suppliers and implementation partners.
- Analyze risks and assess the potential impact of architectural changes.

- You hold a Master’s degree and have a strong interest in computer science.
- You already possess knowledge of some of the technologies listed above or have a strong eagerness to learn.
- You have expert knowledge of at least one cloud platform
, preferably AWS. - You have a solid understanding of IoT concepts
, ideally including communication with low‑resource embedded devices. - You are familiar with microservice‑based architectures using containerization and/or serverless (Lambda) technologies.
- You have proven experience in API design and data model creation
. - You stay up to date with industry trends and enjoy innovating through research, proofs of concept, and demos.
- Cloud security is critical — expert‑level understanding of key security principles is required.
- You have several years of professional experience, allowing you to work independently and help bring structure to our rapidly growing organization.
- You think conceptually and have a clear vision of how new technologies can add value in daily operations. Your ability to analyze and synthesize helps you present insights clearly to both the team and management.
- You have experience in project management
, or at minimum, the ability to coordinate activities involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
