W2 professorship „Environmental Law

Overview

Around 1,600 students pursue their studies and research in attractive degree programs at Environmental Campus Birkenfeld of Trier University. We are the University of Applied Sciences, which has the highest level of research activity and third-party funding in Rhineland-Palatinate. This means we offer excellent conditions for carrying out projects in collaboration with regional and national industries.

The professorship shown above is available in the Department of Environmental Economics / Environmental Law at the Birkenfeld location as soon as possible.

The professorship involves teaching and conducting research within the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in the field of "Economic and Environmental Law", as well as other degree programmes at the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus. This includes the English-language degree programme "Sustainable Business and Law". The teaching staff are also expected to contribute to the profile of the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus in teaching and research.

Sound theoretical knowledge and several years’ practical experience in environmental law are required, and this must be reflected in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver courses in both German and English, supporting the international focus of the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus. Commitment to continuing professional development and participation in the university s institutes and self-administration are required. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences advocate a support concept that requires teaching staff to be present at the university location frequently.

We also expect a very good command of German and English. Appointment will be made to permanent civil service status if the relevant employment requirements are met.
