Responsibilities
  • Perform driving duties and miscellaneous clerical tasks
  • Review daily schedule and assist fellow drivers when possible
  • Drive to and from scheduled destinations
  • Notify staff and clients if running late
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Contact clients and agency in case of delays using company phone
  • Maintain courteous interactions with clients, visitors, and staff
  • Adhere to speed limits and Michigan traffic laws
  • Assist clients in and out of the vehicle
  • Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices
  • Check and maintain vehicle fluids and cleanliness
  • Provide weekly reports to supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Experience
  • At least 1 year of passenger transportation experience
  • Ability to operate a wheelchair lift
  • No more than one moving violation in the past 12 months
  • No recent DUI or impaired driving offenses
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License with no recent suspensions or revocations
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental or physical limitations
  • Safe driving in various weather conditions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Discretion and judgment in handling sensitive matters
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Initiative and forward-thinking
Preferred
  • Clean driving record
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation with proof of insurance
