Dispatcher, Transportation

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a Dispatcher at the Kee operation. The Dispatcher position will receive calls, dispatch personnel and vehicles, and provide pre-arrival instructions to callers.

• Take phone calls and dispatch trucks to a specific supplier or customer location.
• Enter, update, and retrieve information from computer programs to perform duties as required.
• Enter load information into the software program.
• Set up trucks with appropriate boxes for the next day's run.
• Arrange delivery appointments for outbound loads.
• Direct truck traffic and communicate with the drivers regarding their unloading area and/or next destination.
• Issue receipts and payments to customers.
• Make sure drivers/brokers have appropriate documents to dump material at various locations.
• Test, inspect, and operate the radio, telephone, computer, and other equipment as needed.
• Optimize equipment logistics and ensure scales are accurate.
• Communicate and assist yard employees and weighmaster as necessary.
• Prepare, review, and maintain reports, statistics, and records.
• Misc. clerical duties, including answering phones, etc.

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Excellent mathematical skills required
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously by effectively prioritizing and organizing assignments
• Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Excellent customer service required
• Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
