Position: ready mix concrete driver 1
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Transports redi-mix concrete from batch plants to customer job sites and unloads materials.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Positioning truck under batch plant to be loaded

* Standing on catwalks and filling water tank

* Checking slump of load

* Picking up printed delivery ticket

* Delivering load to job site

* Working with customers to obtain vehicle access to job site

* Unloading materials

* Lifting, carrying and attaching chutes weighing up to 50 pounds

* Communicating with dispatcher using two-way radio system

* Making judgments about the accessibility of off road terrain

* Rinsing chutes and truck to remove spilled concrete

* Performing pre-trip vehicle safety inspections

* Maintaining a clean vehicle

* Reporting any maintenance requirements

* Maintaining required record keeping

* Providing exceptional customer service

* Performing routine housekeeping between driving assignments

QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, knowledge, experience)

* Ability to read and write

* Commercial driver license with minimum of a "B" endorsement with air brakes

* Ability to understand oral and written instructions

* Good driving record

* Ability to read a map and follow directions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Climbing in and out of a truck 20/30 times per day

* Climbing a ladder on the back of truck 10/20 times per day

* Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds

* Driving a vehicle

* Walking, sitting, standing for extended periods of time
