Position Details
Foster Care Documentation Specialist (Full-Time) – Detroit, MI.
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to review and maintain foster care case files, ensuring compliance with agency policies and state/federal regulations. You will support case managers and supervisors, maintaining organized tracking systems and facilitating documentation accuracy.
Responsibilities- Review foster care case files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ensure documentation aligns with agency policies and state/federal regulations.
- Collaborate with case managers to correct and update records.
- Maintain organized systems for tracking and auditing case documentation.
- Coordinate with supervisors to determine cases for review.
- Perform detailed file reviews, ensuring all paperwork is in order.
- Send and retrieve case files from offsite storage.
- Track all pertinent case paperwork and report completion status.
- Advise supervisors on significant issues; recommend system improvements.
- Communicate with staff and provide support.
- Associate’s degree in human services or related field (preferred).
- Two or more years in a related role with knowledge of adoption/foster care licensing (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with child welfare documentation (preferred).
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- $14.00 per hour
